Get a Jumpstart on your American University Career!

The University Bridge Program is an innovative program for international students interested in studying at a college or university in the USA. Students take actual college classes, earn up to 18 or more transferable college credits and strengthen the English skills necessary for success in any American university.

• Earn college credits in small classes with full ESL linguistic support.
• Take courses in Hawai‘i from an accredited mainland university.
• Learn the skills necessary for success at an American university
• Transfer credits to the university of your choice

Core courses include:

• English 101: Basic English Composition -- 3 credits.
• Math 105: College Algebra with Applications -- 3 credits.
• Communications 105: Public Speaking -- 3 credits

• Communications 100: Intercultural Communication -- 3 credits
• Introduction to Theater
• Psychology: General Psychology-- 3 credits

Through our partnership with Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa, TOEFL 3 students can enroll at UIU and ICC simultaneously and receive regionally-accredited college credit.

Each course is taught by an ICC instructor and the credits are awarded by Upper Iowa University. Some courses are taken together with visiting UIU students. Students may leave the program at any time and transfer their credits to the college or university oftheir choice. Those who successfully complete at least four courses may apply for preferred admission to the to the Fayette Campus of Upper Iowa University and may receive scholarships specially reserved for ICC students based upon their academic performance. .

We have also been working to create a closer partnership with other quality institutions for students that come through this program to continue their education. In this regard, we are proud to be partnering with The College of Idaho to offer students who complete a course of study in ICC’s University Bridge Program conditional acceptance at that institution. This means that students from ICC’s University Bridge Program who meet The College of Idaho criteria for enrollment will have an expedited enrollment. The College of Idaho is one of the top regional liberal arts colleges in the U.S. and was recently named one of the most wired small colleges in the nation. Entry Requirement
TOEFL 520 PBT / 61 iBt or higher equivalent or an ICC entrance test. All students must provide their own laptop computer.
