ICC Hawaii: Transform Your Life
Learn English and transform your life at ICC in Hawaii

English for Business (EB)

In this high-powered program, students develop more effective oral and written skills for business situations. Through this program, students improve their general language skills with extensive reading of business articles, preparing speech presentations, writing business correspondence, practicing useful business idioms, and reviewing grammar. Each term, the class also focuses on specific business topics, such as sales and marketing, management, finance and investment, banking, or entrepreneurship.

As with all ICC classes, good oral communication skills are of primary importance. As such, students in English for Business have numerous opportunities to speak. Activities to encourage speaking include pair and small group discussions, negotiating, debates, role-plays and speech presentations.

Internship Elective (+Placement fee)
As an added bonus for full-time students only, this 8-week, afternoon course allows students to work in unpaid positions at a company, where they can observe American business practices and use their language skills while interacting on a professional level with co-workers. At ICC, the students attend workshops in preparing résumés, practicing interview techniques, and discussing real and hypothetical workplace case studies. (See the Internship page for more information.)

Classes are held in the morning from 8:30-12:30. Students can enroll full-time (Monday - Friday) or part-time (2 hours less on Tuesday-Thursday).
