교육계 한-하와이 교류 활발


국제교육대학(ICC, 대표 제니스 고)이 주관하는 교생실습 프로그램의 일환으로 1월26일부터 이달 중순까지 한국의 공주교대생 12명과 고려대생 2명이 아이나 하이나 초등학교, 코코 헤드 초등학교, 니우 밸리 중학교에 파견돼 수업을 참관하고 영어로 학생들을 가르치는 Teach English in English(TEE) 프로그램을 통한 현장학습 체험의 시간을 가졌다.

교생실습 프로그램은 ICC가 지난 9월 공주교육대학(국제학부 지도교수 설양환 박사)과 협력해 추진됐고 이번에 성공적으로 완료됨에 따라 하와이에서의 교사 및 교생 연수의 효과가 검증된 것으로 평가되고 있다.

하와이에서는 처음으로 카이저 고등학교와 함께 국제 공통 대입시험(International Baccalaureate) 자격 프로그램을 도입한 니우 밸리 중학교의 제프리 시타오카 교감은 “국제화를 지향하는 IB 스쿨의 하나로 학생들에게 한국의 교생들과 수업을 함께 할 수 있는 신선한 체험을 제공 할 수 있었고 이번에 방문한 교생들도 영어수업을 통한 좋은 경험을 할 수 있었을 것이라 생각된다”고 전했다.

Malaekahana Camping Trip

" Nous sommes partis un week end avec Bill, l'un des professeurs du collège, sur une magnifique plage appelée Malaekahana bay qui se trouve au nord de l'Ile. Bill avait réservé un sorte de bungalow où nous avons pu y passer deux nuits.
