ICC Hawaii Student Featured in "Signals"

Friday 22 February 2008 at 1:50 pm ICC Hawaii student Setsuko Tsuchiya was featured in the winter 2008 edition of the Thomas Edison State College student newsletter "Signals".

Setsuko was a student in ICC's College Studies Program and received third place in the 2006 East Coast Writers' Awards for her personal essay about her first experience as a Japanese in an American restaurant.

ICC Students Meet David Beckham!

Friday 22 February 2008 at 12:56 pm Last week Aloha Stadium hosted the Pan-Pacific Soccer Championships 2008 featuring four professional teams from the U.S., Australia and Japan.

Homestay in Hawaii

Thursday 21 February 2008 at 1:38 pm Intercultural Communication College Hawaii's Director of College Studies, Dr. Dan Janik, has posted a short video on YouTube entitled "Homestay in Hawaii".

In the video, Haruka, a former Intercultural Communications College (ICC) "Homestay in Hawaii" student, returns to Hawaii with her best friend, Chie. Together they explore the North shore of Oahu with former homestay parents Dr. Dan Janik and Setsuko Tsuchiya. The video was filmed on the beach where "Lost" was filmed. This beach is a popular place to see Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles.

In addition to managing ICC's unique College Studies program, Dr. Dan Janik is a talented amateur film director, and won a Telly Award in 2007 for his film , "Clean Water, Common Ground", a documentary film examining the issues of water quality in Hawaii.
