Standing TALL With English
Friday, November 30 2007 at 10:06 am ICC owner Janis Koh appears in a MidWeek article on Technology Assisted Language Learning (TALL). This cutting edge language learning computer software was developed at Brigham Young University Hawaii, and is offered by exclusive arrangement to students at Intercutural Communications College Hawaii.Technology Assisted Language Learning (TALL) is a new and innovative technology that delivers real-time, customized English language learning to students through a computer tracking program. TALL tracks each student and adapts to their individual language learning needs by measuring the speed and accuracy of a student’s responses. If the student takes longer to answer, or answers incorrectly, then the computer knows to review that concept. TALL adapts to the ability of each learner so those with less experience or ability in English receive extra practice items until mastery is achieved. More experienced students are free to learn at a faster pace.
ICC is the only language school in Honolulu to offer this to English language students.
