ICC Interisland Maui Trip
Thursday, January 31 2008 at 3:31 pm Once a month at ICC, students and teachers take a trip to one of the neighbor islands. In January, 12 students and 2 teachers spent 3 fun filled days on the beautiful island of Maui.
Waianapanapa State Park Black sand beach and caves Picnic time!
From December to March, Maui is most famous for it's visitors from the arctic - the Humpback whales! So no trip to Maui would be complete without a whale watching tour by boat. We saw "breaching" (jumping) whales and the tail fins of whales as they dove deep under the water. This was lots of fun - lucky we live Hawaii!!

Hiking at Oheo Gulch or Seven Sacred Pools
But Maui is not only about the whales (even though that's my favorite part). There is also the Haleakala volcano - we drove up there really early to see the sunrise - we wanted to hike inside the crater too (it looks like Mars!) but unfortunately it started to rain...so that will be an activity for our next trip to Maui.

Beachside Bar on Maui
We had great dinners, went snorkeling and shopping and watched the sunset from the beach - of course while sipping a mai-tai! In February we are headed to the Big Island and then in March back to Maui for a special snorkeling and whale watching weekend. I hope you can join us!
