Hula dancers from around the world, including many ICC students, lined Waikiki Beach as part of the 2007 Aloha Festivals on Oahu. The event aimed to break their 1996 record for the Largest Hula Dance in the Guiness Book of World Records.
This event first occurred in 1996 for the Largest
Hula Dance" at 3,500 and was included in the Guinness Book of World Records commemorating the Aloha Festivals 50th anniversary. This year,
Aloha Festivals introduced this event once again to gain entry into the
Guinness Book with a goal of 5,500 dancers from all over the world dancing to Andy Cumming's "Waikiki" and Kimo Alama Keaulana's "Aloha Week Hula".
