English for Communication (EC) is a good choice for students who want to improve in all skill areas (speaking, listening, reading, writing, and grammar). Those who wish to focus on English for special purposes might consider English for Business (EB) or English for Health Professions (EHP). The one year Extended Stay Program gives students the opportunity to incorporate periods of travel into their study programs with three 12 week study sessions and two 8 week breaks for travel, volunteer or cultural activities.
TOEFL 1 & 2, Cambridge FCE & CAE, and TOEIC Preparation help students to prepare for and/or improve their scores on these internationally-recognized exams.
More advanced students can participate in the College Studies Program (TOEFL 3) for college credit. We also have a unique Certificate in American Studies program for native and non-native speaking students to start their American College career here at ICC.
Native and native-like speakers with little or no experience teaching can work toward the Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA), a 4-week, full-time program.
We are also very pleased to provide a unique Internship Elective for full-time EC or EB students.
ICC's computer assisted language learning (CALL) program uses the leading edge Technology Assisted Language Learning software and technology. TALL is a new and innovative technology that delivers real-time, customized English language learning to students through a computer tracking program. TALL tracks each student and adapts to their individual language learning needs. Students at any level of English from Beginner to Advanced can benefit from this adaptive software tool to learn English.
